Australia

Oprah backs Australia (the movie, coming out November 26…)

Oprah had Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman on her show last week to talk about “Australia” – the latest work from Baz Luhrmann (Romeo + Juliet, Moulin Rouge!) due out November 26.
I know Australia is small population -wise but when Hugh Jackman did a quick tour of his favorite Sydney spots and he rocked up to Speedo’s – our local cafe, and spoke with Susie – one of the owners and a neighbour of ours (who we worked out via Oprah that she is preggo – congrats Susie), that was kinda freaky.
No pressure, but this is the most expensive movie ever made in Australia and Tourism Australia is banking on Baz to lure America down under. So do yourself a favor and go see Australia.

  1. “Ok listen, I have not been this excited over a movie since I don’t know when. I’m telling you have I got the movie for you!
It’s the BEST MOVIE I’ve seen in a long, long, long, long time.
It literally swept me off my feet. The audience saw it last night. Did you not think that that was some movie?
Was that a movie? (audience go into hysterics)
    Was that a movie?
    Was that a movie?
    Oh my goodness!!
I mean they just don’t make movies like that anymore, they really don’t.
Didn’t you laugh? And I KNOW you cried. Weren’t you on the edge of your seat?
Oh my God and what can we say about Hugh Jackman? (fans face) Be with me, be with me.
Anyway this is the movie to see over thanksgiving. it is epic, it is majestic, it is a romantic, it is a spectacle and the scenery is so gorgeous you can barely stand it. It is everything a great movie should be. The new Baz Luhrmann film called “Australia”

  2. We of course (Americans) would all love to come to Australia, but do you honestly think we can afford that right now? That being said we will have to just settle for the movie in the meantime to get our down under fix!
