Despite 3 years of failed attempts to explore Sydney with the family, this weekend we finally hit the road and headed a whole hour north to Palm Beach. We were blessed with freakishly good weather (28C – 31C) that guaranteed a whole lot of swimming.
With our friends the Carrolls and all the kids we rented a putt putt and motored over to the Basin for a swim and a look-see. We also got charged a $10 landing fee by the National Parks people. I still don't know why. We returned to the boat and continued touring Pittwater and then headed to The Newport a newly renovated pub / restaurant / live-music venue. And it was awesome. Easter egg hunt for the younger kids, Tiny Tennis for the older ones, fantastic views and great food.
We then continued north to Patonga via ferry to spend the evening and following day with one of Harper's friends. A community of 300 people, no stores just a Boat House cafe and surrounded by a massive national park.
At last the kids got to see a new side of Sydney and we all got family time before Kim and I head to the UK on Wednesday for work.
Happy Easter!
