I know that sounds very un PC but it was an event for a great cause – supporting Hands to Hearts International. HHI works with orphanages in developing countries. Specifically, they train women in the art of baby massage. The women then massage the orphans and lo and behold, infant mortality plummets. The power of touch! It is one of those organisations where – pardon the pun – the effects are tangible. They have touched over 7,000 orphans in India since launch in 2006. This pic shows a little girl adopted by local Portland parents who came from the very orphanage that HHI does their work.
